PCO Acting Sec Jay Ruiz still in office, rumors dismissed

Malacañang clarified on Thursday that Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Jay Ruiz is still in office, dismissing rumors of a reorganization.

Ruiz dismissed on Monday claims that he would be replaced as chief of the PCO and reiterated that he serves at the pleasure of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., denying reports about his potential transfer to another agency or illness.

President Marcos reappointed Ruiz on June 16 after the Commission on Appointments deferred deliberation on his appointment due to time constraints.

Ruiz expressed gratitude for the president's continued support and vowed to lead the PCO with professionalism, integrity, and purpose.

The CA had initially planned to deliberate on Ruiz’s appointment on June 3 but later deferred it.
