PCG rescues 12 fishermen off El Nido after boat mechanical issues

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued 12 fishermen off El Nido, Palawan after their boat suffered mechanical issues and began drifting in rough seas on Thursday.

Upon receiving a distress call, the PCG dispatched the BRP Melchora Aquino to conduct a rescue operation within hours of the start of the search mission.

The fishing vessel, FB BART-2, was located near Cabuli Island with all fishermen found safe and stable.

Rescuers provided medical evaluations and supplies to the crew members before towing their distressed boat to safety.

The PCG reminded seafarers about prioritizing vessel seaworthiness and communication equipment before sailing.
