PCG open to China's help for Mindoro oil spill cleanup

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it is open to receiving assistance from China to contain and clean up the oil spill in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

Asked if the PCG would accept help from Chinese vessels still present in the country's territorial waters, Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu responded positively but noted that no formal offers have been made by Beijing.

Abu also mentioned a reduction in the number of suspected Chinese maritime militia vessels near Pag-asa Island and Sabina Shoal.
