Rep Paolo Duterte gets travel OK for 17-country trip, including The Hague

The House of Representatives has granted travel clearance to Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte for a personal trip to 17 countries and Hong Kong from March 20 to May 10, 2025.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez approved the latest revision of Duterte's request on March 20, allowing him to visit destinations such as The Netherlands where his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently detained.

Rodrigo Duterte faces charges of murder as a crime against humanity at the ICC in The Hague after being arrested on March 11 and made his first appearance via videolink on March 14.

Vice President Sara Duterte and Veronica, another sister, are assisting their father in preparing for the confirmation of charges hearing scheduled for September 23.

Paolo's travel clearance ends just two days before election day when he is running for reelection against Rep. Migs Nograles (PBA Party-List) and former Civil Service Commission Chair Karlo Nograles.
