Palace wants 2021 budget before Dec 2nd week

Malacaŋang expects Congress to submit the PHP4.5-trillion 2021 national budget before December's second week.

Spox Harry Roque said this would give President Duterte ample time to review and potentially veto questionable allocations.

Roque emphasized that an early submission is necessary for a thorough line-by-line analysis, suggesting it should be earlier than the second week of December.

He also noted that timely enactment of the budget bill will prevent the government from operating on a reenacted 2020 budget in January 2021.
