Palace urges media to curb COVID-19 exaggeration

Malacañang on Thursday urged media organizations to refrain from exaggerating reports about COVID-19 and instead help in raising public awareness.

Panelo called for responsible reporting after the number of confirmed cases climbed to 49, noting that excessive fear-mongering could lead to panic.

On Monday, Panelo had previously asked media outlets to publish statements by Health Secretary Duque and Department of Health bulletins to inform the public about preventive measures.
