Palace denies preventive suspension of Health Sec Teodoro Herbosa

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro on Wednesday denied reports that Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa has been placed under preventive suspension.

Castro assured reporters through a message that there is no suspension for Herbosa as of now, and provided evidence by mentioning that he was present at a briefing with other DOH officials at the House of Representatives.

DOH Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo also dismissed the reports, describing them as 'fake news' and sharing a photo from the meeting.

Herbosa is reportedly facing several complaints, including an alleged unauthorized release of PHP44.6 million worth of psychiatric drugs to the Rotary Club of Quezon City and an anonymous complaint over the transfer of PHP1.29 billion in cash advances to UNICEF.

Despite these controversies, Castro emphasized that there has been no suspension for Herbosa as of now.
