PAL relaunches aviation school with AAG, training to resume in July

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is relaunching its aviation school through a partnership with Airways Aviation Group (AAG), following the school's closure during the pandemic.

Founded in the 1960s, the PAL Aviation School has trained over 1,200 pilots, most of whom were hired by PAL.

During Thursday's press briefing, PAL President Stanley Ng emphasized the importance of restoring in-house training to meet future expansion plans and equip pilots with global skills.

Under the new program, aspiring pilots will first undergo assessment and foundation training in the Philippines before continuing their 18-month ab initio course in Australia starting July.

Cadets will receive hands-on practical experience using industry-leading technology from expert faculty at Airways Aviation's Australian campuses, which PAL selected for its strong track record in delivering high-quality pilot training programs.
