PAL, AirAsia resume domestic flights June 1

Local carriers Philippine Airlines (PAL) and AirAsia Philippines will resume domestic flight operations starting June 1 as the country transitions to general community quarantine (GCQ).

AirAsia plans to operate a total of 18 domestic flights when it resumes on Wednesday, June 3.

Philippine Airlines will also gradually increase its operations, initially focusing on limited international services and reduced domestic routes from Manila.

The Civil Aeronautics Board instructed airlines to cancel their June 1 flights until the Inter-Agency Task Force approves proposed routes for domestic air services.

Airlines are implementing new safety protocols such as mandatory face masks, body temperature checks, and physical distancing measures.
