OWWA, UBE Express offer 50% discount for OFW airport trips

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) can now avail of a 50 percent discount from UBE Express for trips to or from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The promotion aims to thank OFWs for their contributions to the Philippine economy and address transportation issues and scams at NAIA.

OFWs must register with UBE Express online or in person, presenting an OWWA registration ID to avail of the discount, which includes routes to strategic locations such as PITX and various malls around Manila.

OWWA administrator Arnell Ignacio emphasized that this initiative helps protect OFWs from high fare prices and taxi scams at NAIA and is planning to expand routes to include the Ilocos Region.

The partnership also aims to decongest airport traffic by providing a reliable alternative transport option, with plans to designate some malls as pick-up and drop-off points for arriving OFWs.

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III continues to urge caution against unlicensed taxis overcharging passengers.
