OWWA seeks P7.5-B for OFW quarantine costs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is seeking an additional PHP7.5 billion from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to cover the quarantine costs of returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

This request follows a positive response from DBM, with both agencies working on completing necessary paperwork.

The current supplemental budget of PHP5.2 billion will last until mid-September, but additional funds are needed due to increased quarantine requirements and costs.
