Over 9K AFP front-liners vaccinated against COVID-19

As of Thursday, March 11, over 9,000 medical personnel and front-liners from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana stated that around 25,000 more individuals are scheduled for vaccination.

The vaccines used come from a donation of 100,000 doses of Sinovac's CoronaVac by the Chinese Ministry of Defense to the Department of National Defense (DND).

Of these donated doses, 30,000 were reserved for DND and its agencies while the remaining 70,000 went to the AFP.

By March 8, at least 5,293 medical front-liners had been vaccinated, with most coming from treatment facilities in NCR and Cagayan De Oro.
