PSA recommends canceling Mayor Alice Guo's birth cert due to fraud

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has recommended to the Office of Solicitor General (OSG) that Mayor Alice Guo's birth certificate be canceled due to irregularities.

During a Senate hearing, Assistant National Statistician Marizza Grande confirmed that PSA found Guo's late birth registration as fraudulent or irregular and noted the agency lacks power to cancel it automatically.

Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra stated during the hearing that his office is seriously considering PSA’s recommendation to file a petition for the cancellation of Mayor Guo's birth certificate, alongside forming an investigative team.

The OSG has been coordinating with various government agencies to gather facts about Guo, who became the subject of inquiry due to her involvement in suspected illegal activities related to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.

Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed that there is another 'Alice Leal Guo' with the same birthdate and year, raising questions about Mayor Guo's citizenship and the need for reform in birth registration procedures.
