2 OFWs injured in Kuwait dorm fire show improvement, 3 die

Two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) injured in a dormitory fire in Kuwait are showing signs of improvement, according to the Department of Migrant Workers on Friday.

One worker has been released from the hospital and is now staying in company accommodation, while the other remains in the intensive care unit but continues to show signs of recovery.

The incident resulted in the deaths of three OFWs due to smoke inhalation caused by a short circuit, with their remains arriving in the Philippines on June 17.

Six surviving Filipino colleagues are still in Kuwait following the fire and remain unharmed.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac emphasized hope for full recovery and provided updates through social media.
