NCR daily COVID-19 cases drop to 1,417: OCTA

The average daily number of new coronavirus cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has dropped significantly.

As of May 17, OCTA Research reported that NCR's daily cases decreased to 1,417 from 1,644 a week prior.

OCTA noted that the reproduction number is at 0.57 and positivity rate stands at 11%, indicating slowing transmission.

The average daily attack rate (ADAR) in NCR has dropped to 10.26 per 100,000 population, below the high-risk threshold of 10.

Healthcare utilization rates remain stable with a 45% HCUR and 56% ICU occupancy, both under safe thresholds.
