Ochoa elected PSA president, Beltran becomes chairman

Francis T. J. Ochoa, sports editor at Inquirer, has been elected as the new president of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), succeeding Nelson Beltran.

Jasmine Payo from Rappler and Ramon Bonilla from Manila Bulletin were appointed vice president and secretary general respectively.

Other officers include Gerry Ramos from Spin.PH as treasurer, Ramil Cruz from Abante Tonite as auditor, and Emil Noguera from Manila Times as assistant secretary, all set to serve a two-year term starting Tuesday following the weekly PSA Forum.

Beltran will take on the role of chairman of the board, overseeing a group that includes several prominent sports editors and assistant sports editors from various media outlets.

Ochoa aims to fully implement the PSA Charter drafted under Beltran's leadership and increase the organization's public relevance through committee formation for project advancement.
