OCD, NDRRMC on red alert for May 9 polls

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) will be on red alert in preparation for the May 9 national and local elections.

Their role includes supporting the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in implementing safety measures against COVID-19, as per Memorandum No. 6 issued by the National Task Force Against COVID-19 on May 2.

The OCD is tasked with coordinating member agencies to meet Comelec's requirements and facilitating the provision of medical supplies and logistical support for pandemic operations.
