EJ Obiena postpones pole vault challenge, holds meet-and-greet Sept 15

Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena will hold a meet-and-greet event on September 15 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, offering fans the chance to meet him and other world-class athletes.

Obiena announced that his planned Philippine International Pole Vault Challenge scheduled for September 20 in Makati has been postponed until next year due to unexpected challenges and personal health issues.

The athlete explained on Monday that he encountered 'unexpected hurdles,' including a fractured vertebrae, which prevented him from competing at the best quality.

Obiena, who finished fourth in the Paris Olympics this summer, will close his 2024 campaign early due to his back injury.

Despite these challenges, Obiena remains optimistic and is looking forward to the meet-and-greet event on September 15.
