Obiena eyes early Paris Olympics qualification, auctions gold-winning shoes

EJ Obiena aims to qualify early for the Paris Olympics by clearing a height of at least 5.82 meters in World Athletics-sanctioned tournaments starting July.

Obiena, who recently won his third consecutive gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, plans to auction the shoes he wore during this victory to raise funds for aspiring pole vaulters in the Philippines.

Despite challenging weather conditions, Obiena set a new SEA Games record with a clearance of 5.65 meters and expressed that competing under such conditions is a different kind of challenge.
