NPC, PNP-ACG sign MOU on data protection and cybercrime

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) has partnered with the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) to address data protection and cybercrimes.

Commissioner John Henry Naga said the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on Thursday aligns with the Marcos administration's whole-of-government approach.

The MOU aims to enhance collaboration between NPC and PNP-ACG, including a case referral system, joint investigations, information-sharing protocols, and capacity-building activities.

These initiatives aim to protect public data privacy and cybersecurity while maximizing government resources for the Filipino people.

The accord also provides mutual enforcement support with standardized processes and clear timelines, taking effect immediately for three years unless amended or terminated by agreement.
