NGCP restores Bacnotan-Bulala line, Bauang-San Fernando partially energized

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced on Saturday that a transmission line in Northern Luzon damaged by recent tropical storms and southwest monsoon has been restored.

The Bacnotan-Bulala 69 kilovolt (kV) Line, which supplies power to customers of La Union Electric Cooperative (LUECO), is now operational again.

However, the Bauang-San Fernando 115kV Line remains partially energized by NGCP while LUECO repairs its portion of the line.

NGCP clarified that power outages can result from issues with either transmission facilities managed by NGCP or distribution utilities and electric cooperatives.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Tropical Depression Emong has left the country but the southwest monsoon continues to affect several provinces in Northern Luzon and Occidental Mindoro.
