Newsome's clutch shot seals Meralco's comeback win over Converge

Chris Newsome's game-winning midrange jumper secured Meralco's 91-89 victory over Converge FiberXers in the PBA Philippine Cup on Friday, April 4.

Trailing by six points with two minutes left, Meralocame back to tie the game and eventually win after Newsome scored with 0.8 seconds remaining, mirroring his heroics from last season's championship-clinching shot.

Newsome finished with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and a steal, while Bong Quinto added 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists, helping Meralco complete its comeback after being down by as many as 20 points in the first quarter.

Terrafirma started their campaign with promise, securing a confidence-boosting 95-87 win over Phoenix behind Terrence Romeo's 17-point second-half effort.

The Bolts will face Terrafirma next, while Converge will play against Phoenix in their upcoming games this weekend.
