Nestor Tan elected IMC president, first Filipino in role

Nestor Tan, president and CEO of BDO Unibank Inc., has been elected as the president of the International Monetary Conference (IMC) for the 2025-2026 term.

Tan was chosen during the IMC's annual meeting in Brussels, Belgium, making him the first Filipino to hold this position.

The IMC is a nonprofit organization comprising chairpersons and CEOs from 58 of the world’s largest financial institutions across 31 countries.

BDO highlighted that Tan's election reflects his extensive expertise in banking and finance and affirms his leadership standing in the global banking community, underscoring BDO's strong performance and increasing influence in regional and international financial sectors.

His appointment marks a milestone not only for BDO but also for the Philippine banking industry, which continues to gain recognition in the global financial community.
