NEDA expands LLRN project to include new connecting roads and interchanges

On Tuesday, the NEDA Board chaired by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved modifications to the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network (LLRN) project, expanding Phase 1 to include connecting roads and interchanges in key locations.

The LLRN now includes developing connecting roads and interchanges in Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa City, as well as San Pedro, Biñan, and Cabuyao cities in Laguna, enhancing the initial scope of the project.

Initially approved in 2021, the LLRN involves constructing a 37.5-kilometer primary road and a 12-kilometer viaduct from Lower Bicutan to Tunasan, along with a 25.5-kilometer shoreline viaduct and embankment.

Feasibility studies for Phase 2 of the LLRN project will be completed by December, extending the network from Binangonan, Rizal, to Calamba, Laguna, covering an estimated total length of 71.5 kilometers.

NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan highlighted that the LLRN aims to reduce traffic congestion and enhance travel safety and convenience across various tourist and business destinations in the National Capital Region, CALABARZON, and Central Luzon.

The NEDA Board also approved changes to the terms of upgrading and expanding Laguindingan International Airport in Misamis Oriental, including guidelines for adjusting the passenger service charge based on key performance indicators and minimum standards.
