Police rescue abducted Chinese national, arrest 5 captors

Early Wednesday morning, March 12, operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Pasay City Police rescued a 32-year-old Chinese national after arresting five of his captors in Pasay City.

The rescue operation involved a car chase that led to the death of a motorcycle rider who was hit by the fleeing suspects' vehicle, dragging it along Macapagal Boulevard.

Following reports of the abduction and ransom demand for P500,000, the police launched an entrapment operation around 4 a.m., resulting in the arrest of one suspect while others managed to escape.

A follow-up raid at a condominium led to another arrest and the seizure of 152.4 grams of suspected shabu worth P761,000 and a loaded revolver.

The suspects are now in custody at the Pasay City Police Station's Drug Enforcement Unit for filing of charges, with seized items forwarded to the PNP Crime Laboratory for analysis.
