NCR daily Covid-19 average up 19%: OCTA

The daily average of new Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) increased by 19 percent for the week ending May 19 compared to the previous week.

OCTA Research Group fellow Dr. Guido David reported that NCR's seven-day average of new cases rose from 59 to 71, with its one-week average daily attack rate increasing from 0.42 to 0.50 but remaining very low.

The reproduction number increased to 0.90, which is moderate and indicates slow transmission since it is below 1.

Despite the increase in cases, NCR's positivity rate remained at 1.2 percent and its two-week growth rate remains negative at -17 percent according to the DOH, classifying NCR as minimal risk.
