Philippine Museum and Galleries Month features events honoring traditions and fostering innovation

Museum and Galleries Month is celebrated annually in October in the Philippines to raise awareness about Philippine art forms and cultural artifacts.

This year's theme, 'Honoring Traditions, Fostering Innovation,' underscores the importance of balancing heritage preservation with future development.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has organized various events across the country, including exhibits at the NCCA Gallery in Intramuros featuring works by Alberto T. Magsumbol and HIBLA collective.

ManilART 2024, a visual arts fair running from October 9 to 13 at SMX Aura Convention Center in Taguig City, aims to celebrate diversity and interconnectedness in Philippine contemporary art.

Other events include Luzon Art Fair 2024 in Tarlac, Tam-awhan Festival of Arts and Culture in Baguio, the Cultural Center of the Philippines' exhibitions, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila's MADE's 40th Anniversary Exhibition, Ateneo Art Gallery’s guided tours, and UP Vargas Museum’s workshops and exhibits.
