NNIC rolls out automated parking system at NAIA Terminals

The New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC) has introduced an automated parking system at Ninoy Aquino International Airport starting with Terminal 3 on March 1 and expanding to Terminals 1 and 2 by March 14.

Drivers enter through unmanned entrances and receive an automated ticket, exiting using a QR code-based system aimed at reducing waiting time and improving traffic flow.

By April for Terminal 3 and May for Terminals 1 and 2, real-time parking slot displays will be installed to help drivers check available spaces before entering the facility.

Initially only cash payments are accepted but starting March 14, customers can use GCash, PayMaya, debit or credit cards for payment.

By July, autopay stations will become operational across all terminals to further speed up transactions.

Despite public outcry over parking rate hikes last year, NNIC defends the increase as a move to 'optimize parking facilities by prioritizing spaces for passengers.'

Curbside pick-up or drop-off services are also available at Terminal 1's arrival area.
