MRT-3 temporarily stops due to burning wire, causing delays

On Tuesday morning, June 17, 2025, the MRT-3 briefly halted operations due to a reported burning wire between Cubao and Santolan Southbound stations at approximately 7:36 a.m., causing delays for many commuters.

As a safety measure, trains were instructed to stop at their nearest platforms until maintenance teams arrived on-site for assessment and intervention.

By around 8 a.m., long lines of passengers formed at North Avenue and Quezon Avenue stations due to the disruption in train services, leading some to switch to crowded EDSA Bus Carousel or take taxis.

All MRT-3 trains resumed movement by 8:13 a.m. after the issue was addressed, with operations returning to normal within an hour, though many were already late for work and school.

The MRT-3 management apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters and thanked them for their understanding.
