MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2 suspend ops April 17-20 for maintenance

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will suspend operations from April 17 to April 20 for annual maintenance activities.

Departing trains on April 16, the last day of regular service before suspension, will leave MRT-3 at 10:30 p.m. from North Avenue Station and 11:09 p.m. from Taft Avenue Station, while LRT-1 services will end at 10:30 p.m. from Dr. Santos Station and 10:45 p.m. from Fernando Poe Jr. Station.

Normal operations for MRT-3 will resume on April 21 with extended operating hours to cater to evening commuters, while LRT-1 will follow its regular schedule starting April 17.

Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) president Enrico Benipayo emphasized the importance of maintenance activities for ensuring reliable and convenient service for millions of daily commuters.

The MRT-3 has decided to continue extended weekday operating hours indefinitely following positive feedback from a two-week pilot test, which served an additional 61,004 passengers during the extra hour.
