MPTC seeks P15B from Acciona for CCLEx expansion

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) aims to secure a P15-billion investment from Spanish infrastructure company Acciona S.A. for expanding and upgrading the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEx).

MPTC President Rogelio L. Singson expressed hope that Acciona would invest more than the planned amount during an interview last week.

Singson emphasized the need to connect CCLEx to both sides of Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu Island, noting that current traffic volume is only 30% of projections.

MPTC plans to expand both ends of CCLEx, linking it to Bacalso and Lapu-Lapu, with Acciona expected to fund these expansions this year.

Separately, MPTC announced new toll rates for the NLEX Connector starting October 15, implemented in stages to ease the impact on motorists.
