MPT South expects 8-10% Holy Week traffic surge, offers free towing

Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) anticipates an 8% to 10% increase in traffic volume this Holy Week, deploying additional personnel and suspending non-essential construction.

Raul L. Ignacio, president of MPT South, announced that the company will provide free towing services for stalled Class 1 vehicles from Holy Wednesday onwards.

Ignacio also encouraged motorists to use RFID systems for smoother toll transactions and recommended downloading the MPT DriverHub app for real-time traffic updates.

Typically, around 43,000 vehicles travel on the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) daily, while about 170,000 cars use the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and 12,300 vehicles pass through the C5 Link segment.

MPT South will also suspend non-essential construction and lane closures to minimize disruptions for motorists and ensure safety repairs are completed without impeding traffic flow.

Motorists are urged to perform vehicle maintenance checks using the 'BLOWBAGETS' checklist before embarking on long trips.
