More cops deployed in Pangasinan for May polls

Some 88 policemen will be deployed as an augmentation force in Pangasinan ahead of the May elections.

These officers will patrol national highways and conduct random border checkpoints to ensure peace during the polls.

17 other localities are also considered areas of concern, with additional police forces being sent to these locations.

Earlier this month, 59 personnel and 11 chiefs of police were rotated to prevent influence over elections.

The PPPO is set to start removing illegal election posters on February 8 in collaboration with the Commission on Elections.
