MMFF meets P800M target, 'And The Breadwinner Is' tops with P400M

The 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) achieved its box office target of P800 million, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Chairman Ron Artes highlighted improvements in quality and inclusivity, including the revival of the Student Short Film Festival and talk back sessions.

Artes emphasized collaboration within the local entertainment industry to produce high-quality films and acknowledged the efforts of those involved.

The top three grossing MMFF entries were 'And The Breadwinner Is,' 'The Kingdom,' and 'Green Bones.'

Star Cinema's 'And The Breadwinner Is' alone accounted for over half of the festival's total box office revenue, surpassing P400 million.
