MMDA hosts 50th MMFF Parade of Stars, featuring floats and fan concert

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) hosted the Parade of Stars for the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in Manila on Saturday, December 21.

Starting at 2 pm from Kartilya ng Katipunan and concluding around 8 or 9 pm at the Manila Central Post Office, the parade featured ten elaborately designed floats representing each official MMFF entry, with intricate floral motifs or horror-inspired designs reflecting their genre and storyline.

The route covered a 12-kilometer path through key areas of Manila, notably longer than last year's 8.7-kilometer route, traversing major thoroughfares like Recto and Taft Avenues, which attracted thousands of fans along the way.

Prior to the parade, the cast of the official entries met and greeted the press, followed by a fan concert at the Manila Central Post Office with performances from Bamboo and Jason Dy.

The MMDA deployed personnel for crowd control and safety, temporarily closing certain roads along the route to accommodate the floats and crowds.
