MMFF extends run to January 14; Artes thanks supporters, expects rising ticket sales

Metro Manila Film Festival chairman Don Artes announced on Monday that the festival's official entries will run until January 14 in select cinemas due to public demand.

Artes thanked moviegoers for their continued support during the MMFF's 50th edition and expressed hope that ticket sales would continue to rise with the extended run.

Proceeds from the film festival will benefit organizations such as Mowelfund, FDCP, and the Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council.

Ten official entries are part of this year's MMFF lineup, including 'Green Bones,' which won Best Picture; 'And the Breadwinner Is...'; 'The Kingdom' (2nd Best Picture); 'My Future You' (3rd Best Picture); 'Isang Himala' (4th Best Picture); 'Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital'; 'Espantaho'; 'Hold Me Close'; 'Topakk,' and 'Uninvited'.

MMFF complimentary passes will remain valid until January 14.

The extension reflects the public's enthusiasm and support for locally produced films during the festival.
