MMDA to implement 'intermittent stops' for Fiba World Cup

MMDA will implement 'intermittent stops' along key thoroughfares in Metro Manila to give way for Fiba World Cup delegates and players starting August 25.

Intermittent stops mean motorists will be temporarily halted and redirected to other routes; express lanes will also be implemented on EDSA, Kalayaan Avenue, Diokno Boulevard, Roxas Boulevard, Andrews Avenue, and Sales Road.

Over 1,300 MMDA personnel will manage traffic in affected areas, while around 4,400 PNP security personnel will ensure event safety; the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia jointly host FIBA World Cup with participants from Africa, Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
