MMDA releases CCTV of white SUV with protocol plate '7' on EDSA

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released CCTV footage on November 3 showing the apprehension of a white SUV with protocol plate no. '7' on the EDSA busway.

MMDA Chair Don Artes clarified that all requests for the footage were granted within minutes and provided to various agencies, including the Department of Transportation - Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTR-SAICT), LTO, and Senator Raffy Tulfo's office.

The driver in the viral video was identified as Angelito Edpan, 52, who has been a company driver for Orient Pacific Corporation for almost two years.

Orient Pacific Corporation confirmed that the white SUV was registered under its name. SEC records showed that Kenneth Gatchalian, brother of Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian and an aspirant for a congressional seat, is president of the firm.

The MMDA withdrew its personnel from the EDSA busway on June 30 due to ongoing rehabilitation work along EDSA, transferring management responsibilities to other agencies like DOTR-SAICT, LTFRB, and PCG.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the driver allegedly almost ran over a traffic enforcer who had flagged the vehicle down for using the bus lane on the northbound side of Edsa in Makati City on Sunday.
