Research group: China's WPS vessel deployment shows expansionist ambitions

On Wednesday, a research group highlighted China's expansionist ambitions due to the deployment of around 200 vessels in the West Philippine Sea.

Stratbase ADR Institute for Strategic and International Studies (ADRi) president Dindo Manhit criticized China’s claims over the WPS during a forum.

Manhit said that China’s maritime militia vessels’ maneuvers reveal its expansionist ambitions, contradicting their statements about maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The group also denounced the disrespectful behavior of the Chinese Embassy following recent pronouncements that offended Philippine officials.
