MIAA Police arrest 5 'Salisi' gang members at NAIA Terminal 3

The Manila International Airport Authority's (MIAA) Police Department arrested five suspected members of a 'Salisi' gang at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday.

These suspects were part of a larger group of ten that the authorities have been tracking for weeks, involved in theft incidents from April 28 to May 5.

The gang's tactic included one member distracting victims while others stole unattended bags or devices; however, two suspects managed to escape during a chase.

Airport police recovered two mobile phones and a laptop from the arrested individuals, who now face charges for theft, resistance, disobedience to authority, and attempted escape.

MIAA Police Chief Col. Bing Jose urged passengers to remain vigilant and not leave their belongings unattended, encouraging them to report any suspicious activity to uniformed personnel.

Victims of similar incidents are advised to visit the airport police headquarters to file a report.
