Police arrest two, seize PHP5.4M shabu in Meycauayan

A police officer and two suspects were injured during an anti-drug operation that resulted in the confiscation of PHP5.4 million worth of shabu in Barangay Pandayan, Meycauayan City on Sunday morning.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Director of Police Regional Office-Central Luzon, said operatives from the Special Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting surveillance when one suspect alias 'Dan' opened fire while in a private vehicle.

The police returned fire and apprehended both suspects despite their attempt to escape; Capt. Jocel Clavario was wounded in the left leg during the operation.

In addition to the seized 800 grams of suspected shabu, an automatic 9mm Uzi rifle with ammunition and magazines were also recovered at the scene.

The Provincial Forensic Unit quickly arrived to ensure proper investigation and processing of the crime scene.
