Heavy rains cause 44 road closures across country

Heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina have caused flooding in various parts of the country, leading to the closure or limited access of 44 road sections.

In Metro Manila alone, 24 roads are closed to all types of vehicles, including España Boulevard (A. M. dela Fuente to AH Lacson), Bluementritt Road (cor. P. Margal, P. Florentino), and Tayuman (cor. Jose Abad Santos Avenue).

Additionally, several major thoroughfares like Taft Avenue near Arellano University, Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City, and multiple road sections in Quezon City including G. Araneta Avenue and EDSA are affected.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) issued an advisory, deploying maintenance crews to clear canals, conduct road clearing operations, and monitor the situation.

Other regions like Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Zamboanga also report road closures, including Manila - Cavite Road in Cavite, Manila North Road in Bulacan, and parts of the Zamboanga City Bypass Road.
