Enteng causes power outages, affecting up to 19K Meralco customers in Metro Manila; number drops to 4K by Tuesday

Tropical Storm Enteng caused power outages affecting about 19,000 Meralco customers in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces on Monday, September 2, 2024.

By Tuesday morning, the number of affected customers had decreased to around 4,000, primarily located in parts of Cavite, Metro Manila, and Rizal.

Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga urged patience from remaining affected customers due to safety protocols and flood conditions, emphasizing that over 2,000 of these customers are still in flooded areas.

Meralco crews continue to work round-the-clock to restore electricity service as quickly as possible while prioritizing customer safety.

Customers were advised to report power outages through official social media pages or by contacting Meralco’s hotline for updates and assistance.
