Meralco partners with Vietnamese firms to develop EV infrastructure in PH

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has partnered with Vietnamese companies V-Green Global Charging Station Development Corporation and Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company to support the development of green mobility solutions in the Philippines.

The partnership aims to identify suitable sites for EV infrastructure, scale up electric vehicle adoption, and engage in technical cooperation on EV technologies across Metro Manila and other major cities.

Meralco officials signed a memorandum of understanding with V-Green and Green GSM executives to roll out charging networks and explore opportunities for electric taxi hubs.

V-Green CEO Nguyen Thanh Duong said the partnership marks a key milestone in accelerating green mobility in Southeast Asia, aiming to deploy a reliable and accessible charging network throughout the Philippines.

Meralco chairman Manuel Pangilinan emphasized the company's commitment to building an inclusive EV ecosystem that supports sustainable transport across the archipelago.

Green GSM CEO Dao Quy Phi sees the Philippines as a vibrant market for clean mobility solutions and aims to expand its 100% electric ride-hailing service nationwide.
