Meralco eliminated from BCL Asia, loses to Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos 78-83

Meralco was eliminated from the Basketball Champions League Asia after losing to Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos with a score of 78-83 on Wednesday, June 11.

Despite leading by as much as 13 points early in the game, Meralco's performance faltered in the second half, allowing the Broncos to secure a comeback and advance to the semifinals against Utsunomiya Brex.

Ian Bennet Miller of the Broncos scored 32 points overall, including a crucial surge that helped turn the game around in the third quarter.

Meralco head coach Nenad Vucinic expressed disappointment over their performance, noting issues with shooting and missed opportunities in key moments towards the end of the game.

Jordon Varnado led Meralco with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Glynn Watson contributed 22 points but struggled with missed shots in crucial stages of the match.

Meralco will now shift focus back to the upcoming PBA Philippine Cup playoffs after concluding their international campaign with a disappointing quarterfinal loss.

The Bolts finished with a record of 1-2 in the tournament and are currently waiting for their opponent in next week's Philippine Cup quarterfinals.
