Meralco ready for elections, no major disruptions

Meralco announced on Saturday that it is fully prepared for the May 12, 2025 midterm national and local elections.

The power distributor has placed its crews and personnel on standby to ensure stable electricity service in over 3,000 polling precincts across its franchise area, with no major disruptions reported during election day.

Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga said that isolated minor concerns were resolved immediately by the company's crews without causing significant delays in the voting process.

The company deployed more than 160 generator sets and 470 floodlights for prompt response to possible service concerns, conducted maintenance activities on polling sites ahead of election day, and inspected schools serving as polling sites.

Zaldarriaga reminded customers to continue practicing energy efficiency tips such as cleaning air conditioner filters regularly, ironing clothes in bulk, refraining from overfilling refrigerators, and using LED bulbs for lighting.

Meralco customers are advised to report any power outages or concerns through the MyMeralco app, social media pages, SMS numbers, or the Meralco Hotline.
