Meralco secures second seed in PBA Governors' Cup

Meralco concluded the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup elimination round with a 7-3 win-loss record after defeating Terrafirma, 124-82, on Saturday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Bolts secured the second seed in Group A despite key players from Terrafirma being absent and raced to an early 34-15 lead that they never relinquished.

PBA rookie CJ Cansino contributed 15 points along with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals, expressing happiness about his performance under coach Nenad Vučinić's system.

Alvin Pasaol led Meralco with a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds, while import Allen Durham added 14 points in just 24 minutes of play.

Terrafirma struggled throughout the match, finishing with a 1-9 record for the season despite Antonio Hester scoring 18 points and Mark Sangalang adding 17.
