Maya launches Paleng-Kita credit program for micro-entrepreneurs

Digital bank Maya recently launched Paleng-Kita, a new credit program for market vendors and public transport drivers.

Paleng-Kita offers collateral-free credit to micro-entrepreneurs who regularly use QR Ph and the Maya app for daily transactions.

Maya's proprietary AI-driven scoring system evaluates payment transactions and alternative data points to determine creditworthiness without traditional credit histories or paperwork.

Approved borrowers can access credit lines starting at PHP3,000 through Maya Advance.

The program aims to help small businesses grow by providing them with financial tools they have not previously had access to.

Paleng-Kita is part of a broader initiative involving the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and other agencies to onboard market vendors and drivers onto QR Ph for person-to-merchant payments.
