Maya bank partners with Visa for cross-border transactions

Maya, a digital bank licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), has partnered with Visa to allow users to cash in funds from foreign-issued Visa cards directly into their Maya accounts.

This new feature simplifies cross-border account funding transactions for expatriates, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), tourists, and freelancers by enabling seamless transfers of money from abroad.

Khurram Malik, chief commercial officer of the Maya Group, stated that this partnership makes it easier for Filipinos to move money from their Visa cards abroad into their Maya wallets.

Visa Philippines country manager Jeffrey Navarro highlighted the importance of this collaboration in providing users with flexible and secure financial management options.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas currently licenses six digital banks, including Maya, GOTyme, OFBank, Tonik Bank, UNObank, and UnionDigital.
