Maris Racal attends Berlinale 2025 with 'Sunshine'

Filipino actress Maris Racal arrived in Germany for the 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale 2025) where her indie film "Sunshine" is competing in the Generation 14plus category.

Racal recently gained attention for wearing a two-piece outfit during an escape scene in her show and now fulfills her dream of attending one of the world's most prestigious film festivals.

"Sunshine," which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last September, has also screened at the Palm Springs Film Festival earlier this year.

Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, "Sunshine" tells the story of a young gymnast (Racal) who discovers she is pregnant ahead of her tryouts for the national team and seeks to terminate the pregnancy.

In an interview with ABS-CBN before her departure, Racal expressed excitement about the opportunity to absorb new perspectives and open doors in her career.
